Built for a limited production run and allocated primarily to established Ferrari clients, with just 299 miles. This 488 Pista has barely been driven since it left Maranello, though it has passed through three owners. It arrives in Nero Daytona, a metallic black named in honor of Ferrari's historic 1-2-3 podium sweep at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona. A two-tone racing livery stripe runs from nose to tail, and Rosso Corsa calipers inside 20-inch black forged wheels with carbon centre caps answer it. The carbon list is extensive: front spoiler and aero flaps, lateral air intake splitters, lateral spoilers, diffuser, rear segment, under-door trim, upper tunnel trim, and engine compartment. Black ceramic-coated tailpipes and classic Scuderia Ferrari shields complete an exterior built with real racing intent. Pista means "track," and Flavio Manzoni's Centro Stile designed the car around that idea. The signature S-Duct in the nose, derived from Ferrari's Formula 1 program, channels air over the bonnet to generate downforce. The car is 90 kilograms lighter than the 488 GTB, and its aerodynamics and engine draw directly on the 488 Challenge and GTE racing programs. The twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 produces 710 horsepower at 8,000 rpm, reaching 62 mph in 2.85 seconds, 124 mph in 7.6, and a top speed of 211 mph. At launch it was the most powerful V8 in Ferrari road car history. Inside, Charcoal leather and Charcoal Alcantara set a focused cabin, with Alcantara on the seat centres, upper trim, and passenger compartment mats. Large Daytona racing seats carry Rosso Ferrari leather inserts, Rosso special stitching, and Rosso Cavallino headrests, while Rosso Ferrari inner details carry the red through the cockpit. A white tachometer face, a Charcoal leather steering wheel, carbon footrests, and carbon sill plates sharpen the space. Adaptive front lights, front suspension lift, front and rear parking cameras with front sensors, navigation, and electrochromic mirrors with HomeLink round out the specification. Black with a red racing livery, at under 300 miles, is about as compelling as a 488 Pista gets. It is one of the last mid-engined V8 Ferraris built without hybrid assistance.
